A little Advice

Swimming Training Workout Details

If your training for an IRONMAN it truly requires a really well planed preparation and planning. You’ll need a swim training plan that truly maps out what swim training sets to do, on each day you swim, for how long and what intensity.

How long do I swim each week?

Many Iron Men, or Women in Training do not rate  the swimming ability they have as a strong point, in fact many participants in training say that they feel its way the weakest part of the phase {  Swim – Bike – Run } and therefore with this in mind its wise to consider a focus on at least 3 x 90 min swim sessions per week:

What sort of sets should i be doing as an Iron Man participant in training?

The type of set or sets that should be carried out, or intensiity to be precise ,should be based on  the time in a training programs life, or the start date, and then the race day. So if you have a time period of 6 months from beginning to end you need to work on a baseline fitness level ASAP

If you have given yourself plenty of time IE 12 months – you will be in a much better position to plan and prepare for the day:
