Dear Cornish Swim Academy, I just wanted to message with my huge thanks to you all and your swimming teachers - I'm just so impressed how Jack is now feeling happy enough to put his head under the water and doing so well at this, its such a big step for him and so wonderful to see. I don't get a chance to say my proper thanks at the lesson as don't want to make an issue out of it in front of Jack so wanted to message and say thank you so much to the teacher for being so kind and understanding of him (and Willow too!) and for taking just such a great approach with Jack (and Willow!). So huge thanks and really appreciate it, Thanks & kind regards Katherine Judge

High Standards of Learn to Swim

We follow the Swim England Learn to Swim Program.

The Swim England Learn to Swim Programme is the national syllabus used to help teachers deliver swimming lessons to a high and consistent standard.

The programme which is all-inclusive takes non-swimmers on a journey through four specialised Frameworks.

These Frameworks start with the basics of learning to swim and finish with advanced aquatic skills for sports such as water polo or diving. There is also a Framework for teaching older teens and adults to swim.

Swim England Pre-School Framework

The Swim England Learn to Swim Programme

  • Pre-School Framework
  • This Framework is aimed at babies and toddlers aged between 0-5 years old. Swim England believe a positive and fun first experience of the pool environment is important, and this will help build the foundation for a lifelong love of water.
  • Learn to Swim Framework
  • This Framework helps develop confident and able swimmers, engaging learners in a fun environment, with seven stages for swimmers to progress through.
  • Aquatic Skills Framework
  • This Framework follows on from the completion of stage seven in the learn to swim framework and is made up of three advanced stages, from eight to ten. These stages help to build skills for other aquatic disciplines and sports like Water Polo, Diving and Synchronised Swimming.
  • Adult Swimming Framework
  • This Framework aims to improve confidence and technique for older teens and adults, whatever their swimming ability.

The Swim England Learn to Swim Programme Frameworks and Swim England Awards

All four Swim England Learn to Swim Programme Frameworks are intrinsically linked with the

Swim England Awards.

These awards are used to reward children and adults worldwide when they are learning to swim. Each Framework consists of multiple stages to progress through and successful completion of each stage is rewarded with a certificate and/or a badge

You can click on the relevant Frameworks linked above to discover more about them.
